RIGHT IS RIGHT

THE GOOD
What is right, and what is wrong? How does one differentiate between the two? There isn’t any universal guide to ‘proper’ behaviour that applies to everyone on the planet. So what is it that guides us through the process of making tough decisions which may be categorized as right or wrong?
A Harvard evolutionary biologist and cognitive neuroscientist named Marc Hauser wrote a book titled Moral Minds. In this book Hauser argues that throughout the course of human evolution, people are born with moral instincts hard wired into their minds. Therefore parental influence in a child’s moral development is only one of the various variables that contribute to the values of this person upon entering adulthood. Other sources of influence can be television, relatives, and friends. Basically whoever or whatever a person is exposed to can possibly become a factor in a person’s moral and ethical opinions and judgements, which is a filter for ideas before they become actions.
If what Hauser theorizes can eventally be proven as fact, people who are within the confines of what psychologists and psychiatrists determine to be mentally sane, there is pretty much no excuse for people to try to imply that they didn't know any better. If a person is born with the ability to know the difference between right and wrong, it is therefore safe to say that whatever act someone commits is their responsibility.
